Want to be a boss?
I think your answer will be yes.

I always remember a quote by Farrah Gray:
“Build your dreams, or someone else will hire you to build theirs.”
This quote stuck with me.

I’ve spent a lot of years “being my boss,” including more than 9 years as a sole proprietor in SLICEmyPAGE, working on my own with clients and I take more than 9 years building a company, as founder and owner and working with employees.
Working after too many years I realized that being a boss is not an easy task but it is beneficial too.
There are many misconceptions about being a boss.
In this article, we are going to discuss some misconceptions about being a boss which is not true.
So, Let’s discuss-
Bosses don’t have a personal life
People think that bosses work 24 hours a day, 365 days a year but it is not true. Working nonstop doesn’t mean they don’t have time for family and friends.
The best part is that you can schedule your hours of work according to your client’s commitment but it doesn’t mean you can take off whenever you want. It all depends on your time management skills.
Decisions are easy
Everyone thinks that to become a boss you need experience and become an expert in every field. Starting a company with your knowledge and wisdom is quite difficult but as you grow and run your business it’s become easy.
It is true if we talk about decision-making it helps a lot but sometimes it is critical because the fear of failure is always there.
You can make the decisions yourself by taking lots of risks.
Bosses have great ideas and make a lot of money
We often hear the famous phrase i.e. “Follow your passion, not just the money.”
When anyone starts their business people think they have unique ideas and want to make money but it, is not the right business that is all about passion. Being your boss you have to be more disciplined, and more concise. It may not always be easy, but your success is right there in your own hands.
Bosses have more favorable hours than their employees
It is not always necessary. When you are your own boss you get to work more favorable hours it’s not true because bosses have more responsibilities than employees and they aim to deliver quality leadership and strong management to their team and business.
Being a boss means stepping up to work beyond the expected.
Anyone can be a boss, but not everyone should
“Leadership is not a position or a title, it is action and example”.
It is not something that everyone should try, being a boss is hard, it requires determination, inventiveness, focus, self-reliance, self-confidence, etc. Boss manages their employees and inspires them to innovate, think creatively, and strive for perfection.
Flexible hours
Yes, you can indeed work whenever and wherever you want when you’re the boss but the reality is that you have to be available during those times too when you provide your service. Being a boss you become responsible for your output, not your hours.
The best thing is that the most thoughtful people I know in business usually plan for the unplanned.
