If we talk about today, the Coronavirus has become a big issue, more than 192 countries like China, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, India etc are affected from it. Schools and colleges are closed, mass public gatherings suspended and businesses forced employees to do work from home.

It has become necessary for peoples to stay at their houses. There is a curfew situation everywhere. Lots of people are getting imprisoned in their houses because of Coronavirus and self-isolation is the only way to avoid it.

So let’s know who caused so much havoc in the people, what is it and how it affecting our lives…

The name Coronavirus is derived from the Latin corona, meaning “crown” or “halo”, which refers to the characteristic appearance reminiscent of a crown or a solar corona around the virions (virus particles) when viewed under two-dimensional transmission electron microscopy, due to the surface being covered in club-shaped protein spikes.

According to World Health Organisation (WHO), Coronavirus disease (officially known as – COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered Coronavirus which is the family of viruses known for containing strains that cause potentially deadly diseases in mammals and birds. It was first identified in the Wuhan city of China in 2019. There’s no doubt Coronavirus has drastically changed the business landscape in 2020.

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment.

So protection is the only cure. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently and not touching your face.

Now the question arises how much we are ready in this era of rationing to fight against the infidels.
Are organizations ready? because supply chain disruptions and a sharp reduction in tourism and business travel already weakened the global economy and caused a recession.

So the answer is, chances are probably not but what to do in this crisis.

Today everyone is slowly losing their hope because everyone is imprisoned in the houses, which is having a big impact on our work and our economy and it would also not be wrong to say that we can’t do all the work from home. There are some industries or fields whose work can be done from home like IT industry, but it is not possible in all fields. Tech industry still an optimist. So let’s see some Coronavirus practices for businesses which will help you to keep your team productive –

  • Prioritize critical operations.
  • Allow sick employees to stay home or work from home.
  • Stay informed about what’s going on in your area.
  • Establish flexible workplace policies.
  • Try to implement teleworking policies if possible because many states are now recommending social distancing.
  • Use proper cleaning and sanitization procedures in the workplace.
  • Establish daily check-ins with your employees.
  • If possible, set virtual office hours and be present on instant messaging apps throughout the day to help employees.
  • Provide emotional and steady support to your employees.
  • Limit travel as much as possible.

Keeping these things in mind we can cope up with the situation. We all know our businesses are all facing challenging times as the economic impact of Coronavirus. The global spread of the virus destroying our lives and also having a bad impact on our future times.
